Ernestor Gonzales is a first generation Mexican-American. His mother and father
immigrated to California from Mexico in hopes of a better life. Ernestor is one of nine children. Ernestor faced many adversities as a child. He had an unstable family structure and dealt with many obstacles in his youth because of this. His father abandoned the family when Ernestor was nine years of age. After that his mother struggled to keep housing for her and her children. Sadly his mother passed away from kidney failure in 2014.
At 17 years old, Ernestor and his girlfriend at the time had a daughter. His girlfriend’s father played an instrumental role in encouraging Ernestor to learn the tile installation trade so that he could support his family. He worked for Union Tile Shops in the Nort hBay for over twenty years. He was proud to be part of the Union and learn top notch industry standards the Union requires from their crews. In 2015 he started his own company, N.E. Tile Company. He continued to work for Union Tile shops until 2018 when he decided to finally put all his effort into establishing and growing his business.
In 2015 Ernestor had a son. He is a loving father and is dedicated to his children. In 2017 he met his current girlfriend Melissa. She has had a profound impact in Ernestor and his young children’s life. Together, Ernestor and Melissa work to make his business a success. Ernestors’ hope for his business is that someday he can pass off the company to his children if they so desire.
